Through international cooperation, Hungarian authorities have arrested a man in Myanmar who was wanted on sexual offence charges and have returned him to Hungary, the National Police Headquarters (ORFK) reported on police.hu on Friday.
According to the statement, the Budapest Regional Court issued an international arrest warrant on 7 November against Tamás Zoltán Cs. for sexual abuse of a person under the age of twelve or under his influence.
The suspect had fled to Myanmar, but the ORFK’s International Criminal Cooperation Centre (NEBEK), working with local authorities, tracked him down and apprehended him. Hungarian authorities transported the man back to Hungary on 19 December, the statement said.
